Alas I don't know if CWP will work with 2.5, but I do know that someone has taken over development (unofficially?) of something similar called 'FreshPost'

http://freshout.us/goodies/fresh-post-for-wordpress-wordpress-cms/

This is apparently 2.5 compatible.

Hi there!

First of all, thanks for this great plugin! I didn't manage to make it work with Wordpress 2.5 but it's exactly what I'm looking for so my question is easy, is there someone here who managed to make it work with WP 2.5? Or is there any update scheduled?

Thank you very much!

I have installed custom write panel, and have configured it. The problem is that when I click publish, it doesn't show up, or actually publish. The post isn't listed in the manage section either, so it is getting completely lost. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks so much!

Hi
1. thanks a lot for this beautiful plugin

2. an example:

two custom write pages: faith and contactlist

two userroles: author1 and author2

no author is allowed to publish posts

author1 is allowed to write *faith*
author2 is allowed to write *contactlist*

I have created this user roles(Role Manager Plugin), the custom pages,

but no chance... :(
both authors can see and write in both custom pages and both authors must be allowed to publish posts

my questions:

how can I change: to write custom page and *allowed to publish posts* and how can I define that different authors use different custom pages

thanks a lot

Please note that CWP is part of the "Fresh Post" plugin, which - for me - works in WP 2.3.3.
Fresh Post Plugin page can be found at
http://freshout.us/goodies/fresh-post-for-wordpress-wordpress-cms

Still one basic question: does CWP generate different post templates and if so, how can these be called with PHP? Thanks!

Hello. This plugin is exactly what I wanted. Thanks so much. And thank you for the patch for wordpress 2.3. It will probably work also on WPMU, which I use.

Wel, I just wonder why not simply using the wordpress standart library functions, get_categories() and get_catname(), something like below (if not changing elsewhere):

RCCWP_Application.php (around line 25)
function GetWpCategories() {
return get_categories('hide_empty=0');
}

RCCWP_CustomWritePanel.php (around line 150)
function GetAssignedCategories($customWritePanelId) {
global $wpdb;
$sql = "SELECT cat_id FROM " . RC_CWP_TABLE_PANEL_CATEGORY . " WHERE panel_id = " . $customWritePanelId;
$results = $wpdb->get_results($sql);
if (!isset($results))
$results = array();
for ($i=0; $i<count($results); $i++)
$results[$i]->cat_name = get_catname($results[$i]->cat_id);
return $results;

As well as installing the patch, to get CWP to support tags you need an extra entry in the standard_fields table. While we wait for the next release it's possible to create the required entry using SQL, eg.:

insert into wp_rc_cwp_standard_fields (id, name, css_id, default_inclusion) values('14','Tags','tagdiv','false');

A happy new yewar. I found this Plugin so GREAT!

Besides, Panel/Field names etc. with Multibyte Characters (Japanese, urf-8) won't display correctly here with:

- WordPress ME 2.2
- MySQL 5.0.45
- PHP 4.4.7

I checked database and found all the tables and fields of wp_rc_cwp_* having default charset of latin1_sewdish_ci. Simply changing them to utf8_general_ci (through phpMyAdmin) lead me to
successfully displaying Japanese but with my poor knowlege and experience I cannot figure out where in cwp php files (or anywhere else?) I shall change to do it automatically.

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

I have had a look at the source code of RCCWP_Post.php and compared it to the respective part of the rc-custom-field-gui.class.php file.

From the Custom Write Panel:

if (!empty($rawCustomFieldName))
						{
							$customFieldName = $wpdb->escape(stripslashes(trim(RC_Format::GetFieldName($rawCustomFieldName))));
							$customFieldValue = $_POST[$rawCustomFieldName];

							delete_post_meta($postId, $customFieldName);
							if (is_array($customFieldValue))
							{
								foreach ($customFieldValue as $value)
								{
									$value = stripslashes(trim($value));
									add_post_meta($postId, $customFieldName, $value);
								}
							}
							else
							{
								$value = stripslashes(trim($customFieldValue));
								add_post_meta($postId, $customFieldName, $value);
							}
						}
						else
						{
							delete_post_meta($postId, $customFieldName);
						}

From the Custom Field GUI file:

$meta_value = stripslashes(trim($_REQUEST[ \"$name\" ]));
      if( isset( $meta_value ) && !empty( $meta_value ) ) {
        delete_post_meta( $id, $title );

        if( $data[ 'type' ] == 'textfield' ||
            $data[ 'type' ] == 'radio'  ||

            $data[ 'type' ] == 'textarea' ) {
          add_post_meta( $id, $title, $meta_value );
        }
        else if( $data[ 'type' ] == 'checkbox' )
          add_post_meta( $id, $title, 'true' );
      }
      else {
        delete_post_meta( $id, $title );
      }

I am really bad with core PHP stuff. So how do I adapt the RCCWP_Post.php to delete the meta data and not create a custom field for a post if it is left blank? Any help would GREATLY be appreciated!

How would I go about defining some HTMl before or after a key in a post.

For instance, my current code is:
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Price", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Location", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Type", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Year Built", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Beds", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Baths", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Square Feet", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Acres", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Agent", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Listing Number", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, "Status", true); ?>

It currently shows up as just the entered values when I want it to display as something like:
Price: 150000
Location: 123 Main
Type: Residential

In other words, how would I show the Keys name along with the value?

Thanks in advance!

Ok, I took the "\" out of there and found it to work. You didn't mention that in your above post for those of us that aren't coding inclined.

Hello, I tried putting the above code into my "single.php" file and I get errors in return:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in .....(../single.php)
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in ..... (../single.php)

What I'm trying to do is have it in such a way where a user can submit "featured listings" to the featured listings category.

My code is as follows:
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, \"Price\", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, \"Location\", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, \"Type\", true); ?>
<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, \"Year Built\", true); ?>

Has anyone else attempted to create their own custom textbox fields for Custom Write Panel? I've managed to get them up and running, but encounter an error with the data that is stored by the database. Any HTML type coding goes in fine
[ex. <p>I'm a cucumber</p> ] and will display properly until you attempt to edit the post. I believe that the problem is within the call to tinyMCE as all tags are replaced with my good friends &lt; and &gt; [ex. &lt;p&gt;I'm a cucumber</p&gt ]. I've found a work around that is fine for the moment [don't use the visual editor], but as ultimately this is going to be edited by a group of people I'd like to get the tinyMCE visual editor in line.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Dave,

I have been grappling with a similar problem, and just found a soultion in an earlier post: http://forum.rhymedcode.net/topic.php?id=18&page&replies=2

My list was ok up to about 12 items, but I lost the list if I added any more.

I made the change suggested in the post listed abvoe and it's working beautifully!

Hey qwik3r2,

thank you very much for your help. Yes, I use the get_custom_field plugin, too.
I had to erase all the occurrences of triple backslahes \\\ in the code (certainly due to some formatting/escaping here in this forum), but apart from that, it worked like charm!

Now I can print the name of the check box field, when checked. Is there also a way to automatically add some code before and after, like in $before, $after etc.? Can I add those parameters to the function (but where and how)? I’m sorry if this is simple/obvious, I just have no clue of php.

Thanks, F.

I had a problem with this myself, I am not using the get_post_meta I am using get_custom_field plugin http://www.coffee2code.com/archives/2004/06/30/plugin-get-custom/ which is very easy to use.

I created a new function in get-custom.php (which is the get custom field plugin) on line 107 which is:

// Prints Value if Checkbox is true
function c2c_print_check($field, $text, $falseval=''){
  if(c2c_get_custom($field) == 'true') {
	  echo $text;
	  } else {
		   echo $falseval;
		   }
		   }

// Prints check boxes
function c2c_print_checkboxes($fields, $between='')
{
	$fieldvals = explode(\\\"/\\\", $fields);

	for ($i=0; $i<count($fieldvals); $i++)
	{
		$field = $fieldvals[$i];
		if (c2c_get_custom($field)==\\\"true\\\") {
			if ($i>0) echo $between;
			echo c2c_print_check($field, $field);
		}
	}
}

Then I add the check boxes to the conf file and put this in my html where I want the checkboxes to print:

<?php c2c_print_checkboxes('photoshop/css/html', ', ');?>

photoshop/css/html being the names of the check box fields.

Hope that helped.

Noticed a trend that the moderators don't bother to help anyone on this forum, the support for this plugin sucks.

How about how to fix the problem in WP 2.3 where you can't have more then one check box without the other value saying "true" ....

I use this in my blog to display the content of the custom fields:

<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, \"name-of-custom-field\", true); ?>
