Alas I don't know if CWP will work with 2.5, but I do know that someone has taken over development (unofficially?) of something similar called 'FreshPost'

First of all, thanks for this great plugin! I didn't manage to make it work with Wordpress 2.5 but it's exactly what I'm looking for so my question is easy, is there someone here who managed to make it work with WP 2.5? Or is there any update scheduled?

I have installed custom write panel, and have configured it. The problem is that when I click publish, it doesn't show up, or actually publish. The post isn't listed in the manage section either, so it is getting completely lost. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

I've found that the Custom Fields dropdown list has a limit of 19 options on it, does anyone know how this can be removed or raised?

1. thanks a lot for this beautiful plugin

2. an example:

two custom write pages: faith and contactlist

two userroles: author1 and author2

no author is allowed to publish posts

author1 is allowed to write *faith*
author2 is allowed to write *contactlist*

I have created this user roles(Role Manager Plugin), the custom pages,

but no chance... :(
both authors can see and write in both custom pages and both authors must be allowed to publish posts

my questions:

how can I change: to write custom page and *allowed to publish posts* and how can I define that different authors use different custom pages

Doesn't work for me -- same problem as Custom Write Panel by itself: unprocessed PHP code on 'Create Custom Write Panel" page, rendering the plugin useless.

Please note that CWP is part of the "Fresh Post" plugin, which - for me - works in WP 2.3.3.

"leekelleher" patch disappeared form the internet, and he said, that he stopped to use this plugin. I need to work this plugin under WP 2.3. Please anyone who have a (leekelleher's or anyone's) patch (or full version or anything) to this plugin please send me or post here this code!

thank you for your really good looking plugin. But I have problem when I "Create Custom Write Panel" and after I click on it. It shows me:

Assigned Categories:

WordPress database error: [Table 'U7973116.wp_categories' doesn't exist]

Hello. This plugin is exactly what I wanted. Thanks so much. And thank you for the patch for wordpress 2.3. It will probably work also on WPMU, which I use.

Wel, I just wonder why not simply using the wordpress standart library functions, get_categories() and get_catname(), something like below (if not changing elsewhere):

As well as installing the patch, to get CWP to support tags you need an extra entry in the standard_fields table. While we wait for the next release it's possible to create the required entry using SQL, eg.:

Oops! I just found that latin1_swedish_ci is the MySQL default and all I had to do is to set my own in /etc/my.cnf.
Hopefully, it would be kind of CWP to read the default charset set in WordPress and coordinate with it automatically.

A happy new yewar. I found this Plugin so GREAT!

Besides, Panel/Field names etc. with Multibyte Characters (Japanese, urf-8) won't display correctly here with:

- WordPress ME 2.2
- MySQL 5.0.45
- PHP 4.4.7

I checked database and found all the tables and fields of wp_rc_cwp_* having default charset of latin1_sewdish_ci. Simply changing them to utf8_general_ci (through phpMyAdmin) lead me to
successfully displaying Japanese but with my poor knowlege and experience I cannot figure out where in cwp php files (or anywhere else?) I shall change to do it automatically.

Hello,
I've tried implimenting a custom admin panel:

everything seems to work fine though in the write tab I have:
write post, write page, custom write tab1, custom write tab2
When I click on the custom write tabs they open up but the "write post" tab is still selected. I like for the selected tab to be selected so users aren't confused as to what page they are really on.
I kinda of need the custom admin panel plugin in place to stop certain users from editing/seeing certain pages.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I tried putting the above code into my "single.php" file and I get errors in return:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in .....(../single.php)
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in ..... (../single.php)

What I'm trying to do is have it in such a way where a user can submit "featured listings" to the featured listings category.

Has anyone else attempted to create their own custom textbox fields for Custom Write Panel? I've managed to get them up and running, but encounter an error with the data that is stored by the database. Any HTML type coding goes in fine
[ex. <p>I'm a cucumber</p> ] and will display properly until you attempt to edit the post. I believe that the problem is within the call to tinyMCE as all tags are replaced with my good friends < and > [ex. <p>I'm a cucumber</p&gt ]. I've found a work around that is fine for the moment [don't use the visual editor], but as ultimately this is going to be edited by a group of people I'd like to get the tinyMCE visual editor in line.

Any help would be appreciated.

thank you very much for your help. Yes, I use the get_custom_field plugin, too.
I had to erase all the occurrences of triple backslahes \\\ in the code (certainly due to some formatting/escaping here in this forum), but apart from that, it worked like charm!

Now I can print the name of the check box field, when checked. Is there also a way to automatically add some code before and after, like in $before, $after etc.? Can I add those parameters to the function (but where and how)? I’m sorry if this is simple/obvious, I just have no clue of php.

I had a problem with this myself, I am not using the get_post_meta I am using get_custom_field plugin http://www.coffee2code.com/archives/2004/06/30/plugin-get-custom/ which is very easy to use.

I created a new function in get-custom.php (which is the get custom field plugin) on line 107 which is:

Then I add the check boxes to the conf file and put this in my html where I want the checkboxes to print:

photoshop/css/html being the names of the check box fields.

How can I display a custom text in the loop, in case I’ve checked my Custom Field, checkbox style?
The plain

just prints me true or false.

I use this in my blog to display the content of the custom fields:

<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, \"name-of-custom-field\", true); ?>

Only replace name-of-custom-field with the name of your custom fields.
